Anyhow, over the weekend, I was clearing out some old boxes of stuff, and in amongst some figures casually chucked into a box was a familiar chap. It took me staring at him for quite a while to be convinced it was him.
If anyone is wondering whether or not this means I will be running some Grey Knight allies in my Guard any time soon . . . well, probably not a while. I don't think I'm going to be allowed to take him out of Sim's sight for a long time yet. I am also informed he is "not finished".
I was only allowed to take a few celebratory pictures for the blog on the understanding that I made it very clear that this was just a work in progress, and there is still a lot of work to be done on him.
The last picture just didn't do justice to the stunning blending on the cloak, so here's a close up, taken somewhat awkwardly as I didn't have quite enough fingers - I was pressing the "take photo" button with the thumb of the hand holding the model...
While I didn't manage to get much practically done on a hobby front this weekend, finding Coteaz has made me disproportionately happy and content with the world.
The purple you seem to have used in the dark areas of the cloak gives a real depth to the cloth. Really good looking. Combined with white fur and the fine golden lines, it all makes a very noble look.
