I'm responsible compared to my wife, which is, admittedly, not a high standard to be setting.

Modelling in the mainstream
I was in John Lewis the other day and spotted a whole end shelf of Revell Star Wars model kits. They're relatively affordable, and are marked as "easy assembly", but I don't know if they're any good.
It struck me that we don't often see modelling stuff in the mainstream. It clearly takes something with as big an impact as Star Wars to get enough momentum to carry such things into the shops...

Didn't even know JL sold models. Thanks for news, shame they don't have the Millennium Falcon.
ReplyDeleteI saw the Falcon on their website, so you may be able to find it if you're looking for one.
DeleteWTF ?!?!
ReplyDeleteThe ones I have, ATATs, Gunships, an X Wing and ARC170 are all revell kits. They're fine but you have to shoe horn in a pilot or black out the canopy.
I think my 'falcon is hasbro/palitoy, though.
I think these are relatively small, and mostly beginner kits. But it's nice to see some hobby options, and not even in a toy retailer, but a very mainstream store indeed...
DeleteNow we just need some in 1:48/1:56 scale....

(I apologise for anyone whose wallet was hurt by the above links.)
I have the x wing and Vaders tie fighter. There not bad. Not really god paint jobs well on my x wing at least. Fun half hour project and look alright to display.
ReplyDeleteNeed to paint some of the stuff I already own first. ;)
